HTC 4G Teaser Campaign (2010–2011)

HTC on 2MyMob
In December 2010, HTC linked its official mobile site to m.us.2mymob.com/htc for a 4G/LTE smartphone teaser ahead of CES 2011 in Las Vegas. Tech press initially questioned the obscure domain, then confirmed it as HTC’s legitimate mobile destination (Engadget, Dec 2010). The device was widely rumoured as the Incredible HD / Mecha and later unveiled as the HTC Thunderbolt — among Verizon’s first LTE handsets.
The campaign used classic mobile-marketing JSP endpoints on the 2MyMob hosting layer (infrastructure associated with Australian mobile firm m.net), not pages served from HTC’s main corporate CMS:
- index.jsp — teaser landing linked from HTC.com
- signup.jsp — SMS notification opt-in for the January announcement
Archived signup copy asked for first name and mobile number, with consent to receive SMS alerts subject to HTC terms and privacy policy — typical of pre-smartphone-era handset launch marketing.
